I felt an earthquake today! My first one (Ryan). At first I thought "who is walking on the roof, wow they are really fat, wait that's more than a fat guy... what the!?!" And we shook back and forth for a few seconds very gently. Nothing fell over or anything and nothing seemed to break or crack. Hope it was the same at the house, we'll see when I get home.

After a long search, posting flyers and asking around to friends we found the kitties new mommy. They're going to a good home in Santa Monica where they can have the run of the place and be together. We'll check in to make sure they're doing well and hopefully see pictures as they grow.

Amazing concert! The last show of this tour brought out some special guests like Steven Marley, Ziggey Marley and even John Mayer. John Mayer thanked Dave Matthews for his influence on his career. It was great to see them together and Dave's band are true pros.

We caught two news kittens to tame. Technically they're Pepitos brothers from a younger litter (same parents). They're eating canned food and getting used to the house. They ran pretty fast to avoid being caught but the humans won in the end! One of them hid behind a rock and assumed if he couldn't see us then we couldn't see him. But his hind end was sticking out! Finally the heat subsides in LA and we're ready to hit the outdoors. We set out for some hiking in Santa Anita Canyon north of Arcadia. Trail guides said it was a cool wooded path with nice scenery (). We pushed ourselves at each leg of the hike and made the full loop of 9.5 mi. Samba has finally calmed down a bit, allowed herself to be petted if she's in the right mood and is getting along with the other cats. She used to growl, hiss and scratch at people as well as other cats. I wonder if she was traumatized by me chasing her, grabbing her and putting her in a box! Patriotism was alive and well at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena with food, carnival rides, philharmonic orchestra and of course fireworks. The best part was parking on the 14th hole of the golf course since the Rose Bowl parking lot was full. Enjoy some of the pictures that weren't all blurry.

Look who came to visit for Ryan's birthday... Dad. He decided to taked the winged transportation instead of the 2 wheeled variety. Good thing otherwise we just would have gotten a wave as he passed by before turning around to head back. Desiree and I showed him around town and took in the sights. We visited Malibu and Santa Monica beach, the LA Zoo for some wildlife and Griffith Observatory

Here's little Chito from just a few weeks old with his mother and when we first brought him home. He needed to learn how to eat food from the plate, drink from a bowl and use the litter box but he's catching on quick.

We drove to San Francisco for Desiree's tradeshow and to celebrate our 2 year anniversary! We drove along the coast on the way; very scenic but Desiree got a little bit dizzy. We stopped in Santa Barbara along the way, enjoyed the view of the Golden Gate Bridge and had dinner at Fisherman's Warf. We stayed in a beautiful house at the beach.
